I can feel my heart in my throat
am I choking on love
or learning to let it go.
the beat is steady moving
I take a breathe to calm it
put my finger up against it
and I slowly feel it fade
I can feel the beat moving further and further away
my arm starts to feel a tingle
now I got my heart on my sleeve
beat steady moving
I can’t seem to let it leave
grasping trying to hold it
just to feel it once again
that superficial thing called love seems to be something that never ends.
